Bullshit Bingo

'Every now and then a book falls into your lap that's so good you feel like punching the air.' Graham Edmonds' "Bullshit Bingo" is one of those books. - Guy Clapperton, The Guardian

'They are the nonsense phrases that drive office workers up the wall. Such managerial jargon as: 'think outside the box', 'go the extra mile' and 'out of the loop' has long been the subject of derision for bored employees forced to sit through mindless meetings.
Now spotting the meaningless slogans has become a new sport called Bulls**t Bingo.
In a scene which could have come straight from TV satire The Office, workers play secretly at their desks and every time their boss or the office sycophant makes a ridiculous remark, they cross it off their game card.' Camilla Tominey, Sunday Express

Will Write and Direct for Food

The latest production from Alan Parker is a deft satire on the madness of making movies. It opens with a sex scene, closes with a chorus of carping critics and stuffs the middle with a bonfire of crass producers, venal directors and preening stars.Xan Brooks, The Guardian

Sir Alan Parker, the film director, has used his skills very effectively to bite the hand that signs the cheques. Spleen is vented on the Hollywood jacks-in-office, the casting couch, the showbiz party, the hookers. They are jokes about high hopes and big disappointments and there's a strong New Yorker flavour about them - and sometimes a touch of Thurber. Oliver Pritchett, The Telegraph

From acclaimed film director Sir Alan Parker - Will Write and Direct for Food is available directly to website visitors for £7.99 including free postage and packing (normally £14.99 + p&p)

Metro-land was published annually from 1915 until 1932 and featured evocative descriptions and photographs of historic villages and rural vistas of the area north west of London, Middlesex, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire served by the Metropolitan Railway. Not only was it a guidebook designed to promote the area for leisure excursion travel from London but it was packed with facts for the commuter about the cost of season tickets, journey times and also with numerous adverts for all the new housing developments springing up during the 20's. This 1924 edition of Metro-land was published just as the property and leisure boom was under way and also had the extra purpose of promoting The British Empire Exhibition of 1924/25 at Wembley.
INCLUDES FOLD OUT FACIMILE MAP OF EXTENSION LINES TO METROLAND

This beautiful book is available direct from the publishers for just £7.99 including free postage and packing (normally £16.99 + p&p)
